Hon. Baboucarr Ousmaila Joof (ICUDE)

Hon. Baboucarr Ousmaila Joof is Gambia’s Minister for Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment. Hon. Joof’s tireless service and commitment to the credit union movement in Africa through ACCOSCA and other institutions led to his recognition and subsequent appointment to his current position by the government of Gambia. Prior to his current position, he served as the General Manager of Gambia Teachers’ Union Cooperative Credit Union, a position he held for over 24 years. Among his various accolades and qualifications is Master of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Auckland and a qualified facilitator and mentor of the Africa Development Educators (ADE) program. Hon Joof is a Pan-Africanist who strongly believes that the credit union movement has a significant role to play in collaboration and unification among all people of Africa.
